Landmark Information Group and Environment Agency sign new five year deal to assist property professionals and homeowners

  • Partnership to date has resulted in the Environment Agency adding new data product categories, giving Landmark the flexibility to develop new services
  • Deal includes provision of live data terms which will allow smart mobile app-based services
  • Landmark’s environmental reports alert homeowners, legal and financial professionals, environmental consultants and developers to potential land and property risks
This week (15th August 2013) saw Landmark Information Group sign a new five year deal with the Environment Agency to continue to use the government agency’s data for its suite of environmental risk reports.  Covering flooding and land contamination, Landmark’s suite of products alert homeowners, legal and financial professionals, developers and environmental consultants to potential land and property risks.

Working with the Environment Agency since 1996, Landmark’s partnership has resulted in the introduction of new data product categories which enable greater access to information and flexibility for Landmark to develop services. The new deal includes provision of live data terms to allow smart mobile app-based products and provides more flexibility for Landmark’s clients to interactively review the data purchased in the reports.

Lucy Oxer, Head of Data Licensing, Landmark Information Group said: "We are very pleased to have extended our agreement with the Environment Agency for another five years. Landmark was the Environment Agency’s first value-added reseller 17 years ago and we work very closely with their proactive commercial team to ensure that we are making relevant, high quality data available to our clients at an affordable price. These additional benefits and simplification in terms means we can focus on delivering what the client needs, and deliver it quickly."

Mike Rose, Head of Data Licensing Development for the Environment Agency, said: "We are delighted that Landmark has taken advantage of our new product framework and moved onto a new licence. This continues the strong working relationship we have with Landmark, delivering our data and information to millions of users."

Landmark is the UK’s leading provider of land and property search information, including digital mapping, environmental risk reports for property professionals and sophisticated property management tools to surveyors, risk and fraud managers and the broader financial markets.

Landmark Hound Dogs flushed with success in WaterAid200 Challenge

On 8th June 2013, a team of four intrepid Landmarkers undertook the WaterAid200 Mountain Challenge to help raise funds for developing safe water supplies in rural Nepal.  This was a national event organised by Water Aid with the aim of getting a team of people on top of the 200 most popular peaks in the UK at the same time.

Team leader Ian Lynch had devised a 10 mile circular route that took in the target summit of Hound Tor as part of a more challenging walk.   Ian said: "As this peak is easily accessible I thought we should try and match the sort of effort others would be doing in the more mountainous regions of the UK.”

Adam Allford, James Cook, and Lee Bastyan joined Ian on the challenge and had a very enjoyable 3 hours walking in breath-taking scenery on a beautiful sunny day.  Their route took in 9 other peaks on Dartmoor over a 10 mile course that meant they climbed a total of 1687 feet.  The target peak of Hound Tor was reached at the 6 mile mark where the team met up with another group from the Environment Agency.  Whilst that team had taken a much easier route they had also included a few fancy-dress costumes which they let us share for this photo opportunity.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and with your help have raised £287.50 to date.  Their fundraising page will remain open for a few more days so if you feel they deserve a bit more you can contribute to the total at http://my.wateraidfundraising.org.uk/TeamPage.aspx?teamID=54352
